Light at the End

"A Poem for a Promise"

The attack was well-muted,
Well heard by deaf ears.
We fell on our faces,
Shed principles for tears.

The rescues so dear to us
Emptied out promise,
Maternally mistaking
A hit for a miss.

So, what can we hope for?
What hope can we gain?
What pain can we deal with
And won't feel again?

And so we all sit hopeful,
The world's respect looming,
The evidence dooming them,
The faithful with Hashem.
